Meet Our Founder: Ami A

Welcome to the Courage Chronicles, where we champion the rights of individuals and advocate for social justice. Our founder, Ami A., brings a wealth of experience and passion to our mission. With a distinguished background as a senior leader in the Metropolitan Police, specialising in Counter-Terrorism, Ami has dedicated her career to advocating for human rights, racial equality, and addressing domestic abuse.

Ami's journey is one of resilience and determination. She founded a support network for female police employees affected by domestic abuse, challenging senior leaders to confront critical issues related to cultural standards and inequalities. After 15 years of service, Ami made the bold decision to resign and fully commit herself to empowering others and pursuing a career in law. Currently, she is studying for a master's degree in law and working pro bono as a legal caseworker, supporting clients with employment, housing, hate crime, actions against police, criminal matters, and discrimination.

Ami's personal experiences with racism, misogyny, and Islamophobia in the workplace, as well as domestic abuse, have fuelled her determination to make a difference. Despite being a single parent and facing numerous adversities, she earned promotions within the Metropolitan Police and remains steadfast in her mission to empower others to keep going.

As an accredited coach and mentor, Ami is passionate about promoting inclusion and diversity. She also serves as an Inclusion and Diversity Officer for Harrow's Liberal Democrat constituency. Join Ami on this journey to create positive change and empower individuals through knowledge and support.
